Abstract

This research aims to examine the political views of Generation Z in the context of the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) in South Konawe Regency. Generation Z, as a group of young voters born between 1997 and 2012, has its own characteristics in terms of political preferences, access to information, and participation in the democratic process. This study employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a case study method, which involves in-depth interviews with a select group of young voters in the area. The research findings indicate that Generation Z in South Konawe has a relatively high political awareness but tends to be skeptical of traditional political actors. Social media is the main source of political information, while issues such as transparency, the integrity of candidates, and concrete work programs are prioritized over regional factors or party affiliation. These findings highlight the need for a new approach in political campaign strategies that are more aligned with Generation Z.
