The Journal of Local Government and Law Studies (JLGLs) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal that focuses on in-depth analysis of the dynamics of local government and legal studies. The journal specifically explores the interaction between these two fields in shaping effective and equitable governance and public policy.
As a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal, JLGLs is published twice a year in June and December, serving as the primary platform for disseminating original and up-to-date research. Its scope specifically addresses the intersection between legal aspects and the practice of governance at the local level. The journal publishes articles that examine how legal frameworks influence policy, administration, and public services at the local level, as well as how empirical realities at the local level provide feedback on the development and formation of law.
The mission of JLGLs is to support global knowledge exchange by publishing high-quality academic works from academics, researchers, professionals, practitioners, and students in the fields of government, law, and related disciplines. To ensure its quality and scientific integrity, the journal applies a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Each submitted manuscript must be original, unpublished, and not currently under consideration by another journal or publisher.
JLGLs accepts article submissions covering a wide range of topics, including but not limited to: Regional Autonomy and Decentralisation Policies; Regional Government Law; Public Governance and Administration; Public Law and Policy; Public Services and State Administrative Law; State Administrative Court; Regional Innovation and Law.
